So, this is Flora from www.twowithseven.blogspot.co.uk. I found her one day, when I was trawling through the internet. I asked her to collaborate and she said yes (with a minor hiccup where she didn’t see my email then I left a snarky comment and then she emailed me and then I apologised). (We got there in the end). If you’d like to check out my post on her site then click on the link above, it’s called 5 Things That Scare Me.
Here’s her Show and Tell;
ONE// I’ve had one (or two) very lazy days catching up on Game of Thrones (I’m yet to see any of Season 3, no spoilers!!). If like me you’re lacking one or two coins in your purse, do what I did and order the boxset in to your local library. It cost £1 to have it delivered, and £1 to rent for seven days. A whole lot cheaper than Amazon and plenty of time to gorge on all ten episodes before you need to return it!
TWO// I’ve also had a bit of a Nashville-fest. Yes, Nashville. I know it’s full of cliches and impossibly beautiful actors but I love country music. Did you know Hayden Pannettiere and I are roughly the same height? Her surname Panettiere translates to Baker – as if I didn’t love her enough already…
THREE// In the course of working in a children’s clothing shop and hanging out with my two best five & three year old family friends, I’ve rediscovered the best bits of being little. If you haven’t ever read Roald Dahl, you’ve been missing out. Find yourself a copy of ‘Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes’ and see if you can keep a straight face. He was marvelous.
To Show You:
ONE// Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen). You’ve probably already heard it, but even so, I think we should all listen to this at least once a week. If you need some perspective or a pick me up, I can’t recommend this song enough. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTJ7AzBIJoI)
TWO// The best piece I have ever read about body image. It will change the way you feel about yourself, I promise. (http://www.stevewiens.com/2013/03/06/these-are-the-lines-of-a-story/)
THREE// If you live in the UK you might have heard about Nigella Lawson being assaulted in public by her husband recently. My mum sent me this link to an article in The Guardian. I recommend you read it for yourself, for your sister, mother, best friend and daughter. And for all the significant men in your life too, as domestic violence doesn’t only effect women. This article doesn’t delve into their relationship – only the two of them know what is going on and what kind of behaviour is acceptable to each of them. Ultimately, I hope she isn’t criticised for however she chooses to move forward with her life and her family, but the issue of domestic violence, in it’s forms, is something we should all be attune to. FOUR// My board on doors & doorknobs on Pinterest. Not shameless self promotion I promise, (it’s only Pinterest after all), I just like these pictures. A lot. I hope to have a collection of interesting door knockers eventually! (http://pinterest.com/famiesmcc/door-knocker/)
Thank-you, Butternut B, for having me on your blog and for taking the initiative towards our first collaboration! I hope for another with you, miss!
No problem! That’s such a great idea about renting series from the library- I am 100% going to do that this summer.
